In May this year, we first heard that the OnePlus 12 would feature a periscope camera, the first for any OnePlus phone. Later in July, we got the unofficial renders of the phone, giving us our first look at the design and confirming the periscope camera. In the same month, we got to know the specifications of the phone and in that leak, we learned that the phone has a massive 5,400mAh battery.
Today, OnePlus announced its 10th anniversary event on December 4 and at that event, the OnePlus 12 is reportedly launching.
This is not the first time OnePlus has launched a phone in China first. The OnePlus 11 was launched in China in January 2023 and the global launch happened a month later. But this time, since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset was announced a month earlier than its usual launch, OnePlus also decided to launch its next flagship a month earlier.
Anyways, so far, we know that the OnePlus 12 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 5,400mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging. The primary camera on the back has a Sony LYT-808 sensor, the periscope telephoto camera has a 64MP sensor and the ultrawide camera has a 50MP sensor.
One of the highlights of the phone is the display. OnePlus 12 has a 120Hz BOE X1 OLED panel with a Quad-HD+ resolution (3168 × 1440 pixels) and more than 2600 nit peak brightness. This is touted as the best OLED panel by BOE.
Well, based on the leaks so far, the OnePlus 12 is going to be an impressive smartphone. Let’s see at what price OnePlus launches this device since this year, the company did improve its pricing.
