Nubia has launched its premium flagship in the Chinese market named the Nubia Z70 Ultra, and as the name suggests, this is the successor to the Nubia Z60 Ultra, which was launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in December last year. The Z60 Ultra was launched in the global market in markets including North America, the UK, Europe, and Mexico. The Z70 Ultra is also launching globally on November 26.
Design-wise, we are looking at a similar camera-centric design on the rear. There is a large circle with the primary camera sensor and a red ring around it. Then we have the periscope telephoto camera below it, along with the third camera sensor. There is a ring LED flash alongside the normal one. The camera module has the Nubia branding, and there is “Neo Vision” printed in the top right corner.
On the front, the Nubia Z70 Ultra has a flat display with no hole punch cutout. That’s because the camera is placed under the display, just like its predecessor. The bezels are extremely slim this year, as slim as 1.25mm. If true, this makes it the phone with the slimmest bezels in the market. The phone is IP68 & IP69-certified.
Since the design is centered around the cameras, let’s talk about cameras first. The primary camera on the rear has a 1/1.56″ 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor with OIS, a 35mm lens, and a variable aperture (f/1.59-f/4.0). The ultrawide/macro camera has a 50MP OmniVision OV50D sensor with a 13mm lens and autofocus. Finally, the phone has a third periscope telephoto camera with a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor and 2.7x optical zoom. The phone also has a dedicated camera button on the right that is similar to the one we see on Sony smartphones. You can half-press it to focus and full-press to take the picture.
The under-display selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
Under the hood, the Nubia Z70 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. There is a massive 6,150mAh battery with 80W fast wired charging. The display is a 6.85-inch 1.5K AMOLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 2000 nits peak brightness.
Finally, Android 15 runs out of the box with Nebula AIOS on top.
