When we hear the brand name “Nubia,” one thing that comes to mind is the Red Magic gaming phone. But if you don’t know, the company also makes premium flagship phones apart from the Red Magic series. They are launched under the company’s “Z” series, and today, we got the newest premium flagship from the company, the Nubia Z50. It is worth mentioning that there wasn’t a non-Pro device under the Z30 and the Z40 series.
The Nubia Z50 starts at ¥2999, which translates to around $430, and this makes it the cheapest phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This title was previously held by the Moto X40, which launched at ¥3399 (~$487).
Anyways, speaking of the Nubia Z50, it does look like a premium flagship. The phone comes in Black, White & Green colors. The green color option has a back with a textured finish. There is a curved display with a hole punch cutout in the middle. The phone features stereo speakers.
Under the hood, there is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 80W fast wired charging. There is no wireless charging support. The display size is 6.67 inches, and it is an AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
Speaking of cameras, Nubia Z50 has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a custom 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor with OIS and a 35mm lens with f/1.6 aperture. The ultrawide camera has a 50MP sensor with a 14mm lens which is used for macro shots as well. There is no information on the third sensor on the company’s website, so it is probably a depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP sensor.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 13-based MyOS 13.
