Nubia Red Magic 3 launched in India, price starts at ₹35,999

A couple of months back, the Nubia Red Magic 3 launched in China & today, the phone launched in the Indian market. It is a gaming-centric device like the BlackShark from Xiaomi & comes at a starting price of Rs 35,999. Now, the price might seem a bit high considering that Nubia is not that popular brand in India, but still, it is cheaper than the Xiaomi BlackShark 2 which launched in India at Rs 39,999 as the starting price.

For Rs 35,999, you are getting a lot of interesting stuff like a smooth 90Hz display, a built-in cooling fan, a Snapdragon 855 processor & a massive 5,000mAh battery which is a must for a gaming device.

The design of Red Magic 3 is unique as well. There is an RGB strip on the rear, a hexagon-shaped fingerprint scanner & more that give it a unique feel. Now, this is not something new since we have seen all the gaming phones with unique designs, from the ROG Phone to the BlackShark 2.

On the front, there is a 6.65-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate & 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is worth mentioning that there is no notch or any cutout in the display. The OnePlus 7 Pro also has a 90Hz AMOLED screen, but it is priced at Rs 48,999 which means for Rs 13,000 less, you can get the same 90Hz AMOLED screen on the Nubia Red Magic 3.

Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with 8/12GB RAM & 128/256GB storage (UFS 2.1). As mentioned above, there is a built-in cooling fan, something we don’t see on smartphones. Also, there is an ultra-low power consumption mode in which the fan takes just 1% battery even after running continuously for an hour.

There is a single 48 Megapixel rear camera with the Sony IMX 586 sensor, 0.8-micron pixel size & an f/1.7 aperture. It is worth mentioning that it is the first smartphone that can capture 8K videos! On the front, there is a single 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture & 2.0-micron pixel size.

Underneath, the Nubia Red Magic 3 packs a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging via the Type-C port. And yes, the Red Magic 3 has a headphone jack. Android 9 Pie runs out of the box & unlike the Chinese version that has Redmagic OS 2.0, the Indian unit features stock Android.

Well, the Nubia Red Magic 3 is a superb phone for the price & it is available in India via Flipkart. The phone will go on sale from June 27. The price is ₹35,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant & ₹46,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant.
