Almost five months ago, the Nothing Phone 2a was launched with a unique rear design, glyph lights, a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, dual 50MP cameras, and more. Today, the brand launched a slightly improved version of that phone, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus. There is no significant change versus the Phone 2a, but there are some subtle changes in the design, performance, charging, and cameras.

Design-wise, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus has a new metallic finish on the back, but the overall design language hasn’t changed. The two color options are Black & Grey. The display remains the same as on the Phone 2a. It is a 6.7-inch AMOLED with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a Full-HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and 1300 nits peak brightness. There is an under-display fingerprint scanner. The phone has the same 5,000mAh battery and also the same rear cameras.

The biggest upgrade is the SOC. There is the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset which is an overclocked version of the Dimensity 7200 Pro. The Dimensity 7350 has a CPU clocked at up to 3.0GHz, up from 2.8GHz in the 7200 Pro. The GPU is also overclocked and now goes up to 1.3GHz, up from 1.0GHz in the 7200 Pro. Nothing says the CPU performance is improved by 10% and the GPU performance by 30% versus the Phone 2a.

On the AnTuTu benchmark, the Phone 2a Plus scores almost 800,000 points.

The selfie camera is upgraded as well, and it now uses a 50MP sensor with an f/2.2 lens.

Finally, the phone charges at 50W, versus 45W in the Phone 2a.

And those are all the upgrades! The Nothing Phone 2a Plus is simply the Phone 2a with slightly faster charging, a fast chipset, a better selfie camera, and a different finish on the rear.
