Nokia, just like Xiaomi, is going to launch a lot of phones in 2018. The company has already launched the Nokia 1, Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus & Nokia 8 Sirocco globally. In fact, there are also phones like Nokia X6 that haven’t yet made their way to the global market but are expected to launch soon. The Nokia X5 is launching soon as hinted by a blurry image of the poster that surfaced online a couple of days back. The image confirmed the design that we saw on TENAA where this device got listed last month.

Today, we got information about the chipset that will be powering the Nokia X5 (also expected to be called Nokia 5.1 Plus globally). The Nokia 5.1 features the Helio P18, which is a decent processor. The Nokia 5.1 Plus or the X5, is coming with the best mid-range processor that MediaTek makes right now, i.e., the Helio P60. The Helio P60 is a very powerful chipset that competes with the Snapdragon 636 in the budget segment. It is the only processor in the budget segment that is manufactured with the 12nm process.

If priced right, this could be a decent budget smartphone since other specifications of Nokia X5 include Android 8.1.0 Oreo, 3,000mAh battery, 19:9 display with a notch, 3/4/6GB RAM and 32/64GB internal storage. As mentioned above, we are expecting it to launch globally as the Nokia 5.1 Plus.

There is no information about the launch date, but there is an event on July 11 in China, where Nokia is announcing something related to the X series. There are chances that the Nokia X5 will be announced at that event.
