With the announcement of Nokia 6, the company came back into the smartphone market after about three years. Surely, the company now has a lot of plans for this year, and we are already aware that 6-7 Nokia smartphones are coming this year. Well, apart from the smartphones, Nokia is working on its own AI Assistant. Nokia ‘Viki’ is going to be the name of company’s own AI Assistant, and it will compete with Google Assistant, Siri, and Cortana. The chances are that Nokia is going to use its own AI Assistant in upcoming devices.

This thing came into view by the new trademark that Nokia has filed in the European Union for the name ‘Viki. It is described in the trademark as:

Software for the creation and monitoring of mobile and web asssistants working with digital knowledge and combining all data sources into a single chat and voice-based interface.

Well, the description clearly reveals what ‘Viki’ is going to be! As mentioned in the beginning, if the company uses the new assistant in its upcoming smartphones ( probably the high-end ones), it will go head-to-head against Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri and Microsoft Cortana. Honorable mentions include Amazon Alexa that is expected to come integrated into the Huawei’s upcoming phones.

It is surely going to be Nokia’s year as we have already seen how the company became trending in just one day with its new Android smartphone. Even Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S8 with its personal assistant, Bixby. What are your views on this news? Do let us know via the comments section. Cheers 🙂
