In September, Nokia launched the G60 smartphone at the IFA 2022. The phone launched in the Indian market today. Nokia G60 is a mid-range phone and based on its specifications, it shouldn’t be priced above ₹20,000 in India. But for some reason, HMD Global decided to launch this phone for ₹29,999. At this price, this sounds like a deal you should not consider.
Even in terms of design, it does not look like a ₹29,999 phone. There is a waterdrop notch on the front and a big bottom bezel. The body is made of plastic, and there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Also, Nokia has used 100% recycled plastic for the back, whereas 60% recycled plastic for the frame. The phone is 8.61mm thick and weighs around 190g. There is a single speaker.
Nokia G60 has a 6.58-inch display, an IPS LCD panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, and a Full-HD+ resolution. The display has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, it has Snapdragon 695 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The triple camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 5MP sensor for the ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8MP selfie camera. So, the camera setup is average too. The phone has a 4,500mAh battery and supports 20W fast charging.
Finally, Android 12 runs out of the box, and Nokia has promised three Android OS updates which means this phone will get updates up to Android 15. The phone also comes with a two-year warranty.
Nokia G60 is priced at ₹29,999 and is up for pre-ordering. The sale starts on November 8.
