Nokia 9 PureView official Promo video leaks, Penta Lens setup confirmed

Just like 2018, 2019 is going to be a great year for smartphones. We will see features like fully bezel-less design, faster processors, better cameras, etc. in most of the phones next year. Nokia hasn’t impressed so far with its flagship devices like the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. In the last week of January next year, the Nokia 9 PureView is launching, and if you know the Nokia Lumia lineup, then you know that this upcoming Nokia device is all about the cameras.

We already know that there are five cameras on the rear on Nokia 9 PureView, thanks to the leaks and the CAD Renders. But today, the official press render, and the promo video of the phone confirmed that once again. The official render was posted by Evan Blass on Twitter while MySmartPrice got the exclusive promo videos.

As the render above shows, the Nokia 9 PureView has an 18:9 display on the front which means there are big bezels on the top and bottom. Some users may like this design instead of the edge-to-edge design that we see on most of the phones these days. There is no fingerprint scanner on the rear because that is placed under the display. So, the phone will be first from Nokia to have an in-display fingerprint scanner

It’s the rear that makes the Nokia 9 PureView an interesting device. It is, most probably, going to be the first smartphone to launch with not two, three or four, but five rear cameras. The promo video of the phone revealed that with it, the users would be able to capture photos with all the five cameras simultaneously. Compared to a regular color sensor on phones, the one on Nokia 9 PureView will be able to capture ten times more light.

Now, it is not known what type of sensors are there on the rear, but the Telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, and a black and white lens are surely probably present. Just like all the Nokia phones, the Nokia 9 PureView is launching as an Android One phone running Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Finally, the processor powering the phone is going to be the 1-year-old Snapdragon 845 that hardly any big brand will use for its flagship device in 2019. We saw the same thing with Nokia 8 Sirocco that launched this year with Snapdragon 835 instead of the newer Snapdragon 845. So, the Nokia 9 PureView needs to be good in the camera department to attract the customers. And not the forget, the pricing too, needs to be perfect.
