Nokia is all set to launch two new mid-range smartphones, the Nokia 7.1 and 7.1 Plus. We don’t know much about the 7.1 except the fact that it is coming in Blue and Steel color options and with a price tag of 399 Euro in Europe. The Nokia 7.1 Plus might be the phone you should go for if you want to buy a solid mid-range device.
We already know that it is coming with a design similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, thanks to the recently leaked press image. Also, there is a notch on top. Today, an upcoming Nokia device showed up on TENAA that could be the upcoming Nokia 7.1 Plus or the Nokia X7. But, the previous press render of the phone revealed a camera setup design different than what the TENAA listing shows. So, we cannot 100% confirm if it is the 7.1 Plus or any other upcoming phone from Nokia.
IS THIS THE NOKIA 7.1 PLUS?
So, as per the image above, the *alleged* Nokia 7.1 Plus has a glass and metal build, just like the 6.1 Plus. There is hardly any difference on the outside since the 7.1 Plus has the same camera setup placement, a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, a notched display on the front and a big chin on the bottom that has the Nokia logo. It all changes when we talk about the internals.
As per TENAA, the phone has a 6.18-inch display with a Full-HD+ resolution (2246 x 1080) and 19:9 aspect ratio (thanks to the notch). Under the hood, there is a 2.2GHz octa-core processor, which is most probably the Snapdragon 710 as most of the sources have claimed the same. The alleged Nokia 7.1 Plus is coming in two RAM options – 4GB and 6GB. Similarly, there are two storage options – 64GB and 128GB. The storage is expandable via micro SD card up to 400GB.
The phone has a 3,400mAh battery underneath and supports Fast Charging via USB Type-C port. Android 8.1.0 Oreo runs out of the box, and just like every Nokia phone launched this year, it is going to be an Android One phone. There is a dual camera setup on the rear that includes 12MP + 13MP sensors. On the front, the phone has a 20MP camera. The TENAA listing reveals three color options – Red, Silver, and Blue. The dimensions are 154.8×75.76×7.97 (mm) and the device weighs at around 185 grams.
As mentioned in the beginning, this could be any other phone that is launching soon since the design of the camera setup is different from what we saw in the previous press render. Is it the Nokia 8.1? Well, we have no idea as of now!
On October 4, HMD Global will launch new Nokia phone(s), and we expect the Nokia 7.1 Plus to launch at that event. There is no information regarding the pricing yet.
