Nokia is on a launch spree this year as the company is launching phones after every couple of months. Just a few days back, the company launched Nokia 7.1, a budget smartphone that sits between the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 7 Plus regarding the specifications. Still, that isn’t the phone everyone is waiting for. The Nokia 7.1 Plus is finally launching tomorrow in China as the Nokia X7. The company has already started the teaser campaign that reveals a lot about the design.
As revealed in previous leaks and TENAA listing, the Nokia 7.1 Plus has a glass and metal build like the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 7.1. The phone has a dual camera setup on the rear, and the camera bump is big. Instead of placing the LED flash in the camera module itself, the company placed it on the left side to differentiate the 7.1 Plus from similar looking 7.1 and 6.1 Plus. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the rear.
Just like the Nokia 6.1 Plus and 7.1, the 7.1 Plus has a notch on the front, but this notch is huge compared to the smaller ones on the 6.1 Plus and 7.1. We don’t know whether the phone has special sensors for Face Unlock, but if those aren’t there, then this is not a good design. Just like almost every Android phone with a notch, the Nokia 7.1 Plus has a big chin on the bottom. It is not as big as the one on the Nokia 7.1, though.
The teasers also revealed some other highlights of the phone like a big battery, dual bottom-firing speakers, Snapdragon processor, and AI Camera features. According to the TENAA listing, the Nokia 7.1 Plus has a 6.18-inch screen with a Full-HD+ resolution. The processor under the hood is most probably the Snapdragon 710, and the phone has a 3,400mAh battery. There is a dual camera setup on the rear that includes a 12MP + 13MP setup. On the front, there is a 20MP camera.
The Nokia X7 or the 7.1 Plus will launch soon in the global market after it is announced in China. We can expect the global launch to happen by the end of November.
