Motorola One & Motorola One Power officially announced

Motorola, at the IFA Berlin, announced two new Android One devices, the Motorola One and the Motorola One Power. We already know a lot about both these devices, thanks to all the leaks that happened in the past couple of months. As expected, both these phones feature a notch design and vertical dual camera setup on the rear like most of the Android phones launched this year. According to some sources, the One Power will be an India exclusive & is going to compete with the Nokia 6.1 Plus that launched in India recently.

MOTOROLA ONE

The Motorola One is a trimmed down version of the Motorola One Power as it features a smaller display, smaller battery, a less powerful processor and more. Talking about the design, the device has glass on the front as well as the rear. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear, beneath the Motorola logo. There is also a vertical dual camera setup, but the camera lenses are placed separately.

On the front, the phone has a notched display with a big chin that features the Motorola branding. The USB Type-C port is placed on the bottom with the speaker grill and primary microphone, whereas the 3.5mm headphone jack is placed on the top.

Talking about the specifications, the Motorola One has a 5.9-inch 19:9 HD+ display (720p). Motorola hasn’t mentioned any Gorilla Glass protection on the official blog, but we are sure that the phone is having one. The processor under the hood is the octa-core 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625, with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is a dual camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 13MP camera and a secondary 2MP camera. There is an 8MP front-facing camera with LED flash. Motorola, again, hasn’t mentioned the camera specs in detail.

The battery underneath is a 3,000mAh unit that supports Turbocharging via the USB Type-C port. Android 8.1 Oreo runs out of the box, and since it is an Android One phone, it will be one of the first Motorola phones getting the Android Pie and Android Q updates.

The Motorola One Power might be the phone you want if you are looking for a good mid-range device. The phone is better than the normal Motorola One in every aspect, whether it is the display or the processor or the battery. The design is almost the same except for the fact that there is no glass back like the Motorola One. The One Power has a metallic build and an iPhone X-like dual camera setup on the back. The front is same regarding the design as the Motorola One. Same is the case with the buttons and the ports.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Motorola One Power features a large 6.2-inch 19:9 Full-HD+ display. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Processor, and the phone has 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The cameras on the rear get an upgrade too as the phone has a primary 16MP and a secondary 5MP camera. On the front, the phone has a 12MP camera.

One of the highlights of the phone and something due to which the phone has ‘Power’ in its name is the battery. The Motorola One Power has a big 4,850mAh battery that supports Turbocharging as well. So, there won’t be any issue with the battery life as it can easily last a full day on moderate use, thanks to the stock Android.

Finally, coming to the pricing and availability, the listing of Motorola One on Spanish website of Amazon reveals the price of €299 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. We don’t have any information about the pricing of Motorola One Power but it will launch in India next month so stay tuned.
