Motorola ‘Nio’ live image reveals dual selfie cameras

This is the first Moto G-series phone with Snapdragon 800-series chipset

At the Qualcomm’s Annual Tech Summit, we saw a lot of major announcements being made not only by Qualcomm but also by other smartphone makers. Along with the announcement of Snapdragon 888 SOC, many companies including Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus etc. announced that they would be launching their Snapdragon 888-powered flagships in the First Quarter of 2021. Motorola made a huge announcement at the event & that announcement was related to the Moto G series. In 2021, we are getting the 10th Generation of the Moto G series & to make it special, Motorola is launching a Moto G Series phone next year with the Snapdragon 800-series SOC. This announcement was made by Sergio Buniac, the President of Motorola.

Well, we now have the live image of this phone that was shared by Evan Blass & the device is codenamed “nio”.

The live image shows only the front of the phone, so we can see that there is a tall display featuring two separate hole-punch cutouts on the top left corner where the dual selfie cameras are placed.

In the announcement video, Motorola showed a Desktop mode that is similar to Samsung’s DeX mode. The video also shows a phone with dual selfie cameras connected to the Lenovo Thinkpad, so it is most likely the Motorola “nio”. Now, Motorola didn’t reveal which Snapdragon 800-series SOC will power this Moto G series device so it is also possible that the phone launches with Snapdragon 865 or 865+ instead of the latest Snapdragon 888. The Motorola Nio is expected to have 8GB RAM, 256GB storage & a 5,000mAh battery.

There is no information on rest of the specs yet & we also have no idea of the launch date. Stay Tuned!
