Motorola did not launch a “Fusion” series phone in the “Edge 40” series last year, but in 2022, we got the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion. The brand is going to launch a “Fusion” series phone this year under the “Edge 50” series, as revealed by Evan Blass on Twitter. We also got the key specifications of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion from the same source. The phone is codenamed “Cusco.”
According to Evan, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, which is quite a surprise since the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion featured a flagship Snapdragon 888+ chipset. The display is a 6.7-inch pOLED, and the phone is IP68 certified. There is a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging. Speaking of cameras, the phone has a 50MP primary rear camera and a 32MP selfie shooter. The phone has Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and the base variant features 256GB storage.
Finally, the color options are Peacock Pink, Ballad Blue (vegan leather), and Tidal Teal.
Well, these are not the specifications of a high-end phone, so it is quite likely that this is a successor to the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, the most affordable phone under the “Edge 40″ series last year. The Edge 40 Neo was launched with a Dimensity 7030 chipset, IP68 rating, a 6.55” curved 144Hz OLED display, a 5,000mAh battery, 68W fast charging, 50MP + 13MP dual rear cameras, and a 32MP selfie camera.
As for the launch, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is rumored to launch in India on April 3, so it is quite possible that the brand also launches the mid-ranger, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, alongside it.
