The Motorola Edge 30 series last year had some great phones, such as the mid-range Edge 30 with the Snapdragon 778G+ SOC, the Edge 30 Fusion with the Snapdragon 888+, the Edge 30 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and the Edge 30 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Motorola is yet to launch the Edge 40 series, but we already have the leaks. It is already confirmed that the Edge 40 Pro will be the same phone as the Moto X40 in China.
But when it comes to the vanilla model, it will be a new phone that hasn’t launched yet in any market. TheTechOutlook shared the official renders of the Motorola Edge 40 along with the specifications & the pricing (for Europe), so in this article, let’s discuss them all.
Design-wise, the Motorola Edge 40 looks premium with a curved display on the front & a back with a leather finish. For comparison, the Motorola Edge 30 had a flat display. The Edge 40 has a dual camera setup on the rear, compared to a triple camera setup on the Edge 30. The source revealed four color options – Eclipse Black, Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, and Viva Magenta. The renders show only two of them – Eclipse Black & Nebula Green.
Speaking of the leaked specifications, the phone has a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, 8GB RAM & 128GB or 256GB storage. There is a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate & a Full-HD+ resolution. The fingerprint sensor sits under the display. The battery size is 4,400mAh & along with 68W TurboCharging support, the phone also has 15W wireless charging support, which is interesting.
The dual camera setup on the rear includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide camera. The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor.
Finally, Android 13 runs out of the box.
The starting price in Europe is reported at €599, which translates to $650 or ₹53,000. Do note that the prices in Europe are generally higher than in other markets due to taxes, so don’t expect the price in India or the US to be the same as in Europe.
