Last year, Motorola launched Moto Edge S30, which was a rebranded Moto G200 for the Chinese market. At the launch event in China yesterday, Motorola launched the successor to that phone, the Moto S30 Pro.
Design-wise, Moto S30 Pro comes in two colors – Black & Blue. The Blue color option has a leather-like texture on the back. The phone weighs around 167g, has Gorilla Glass 5 on the back, and there are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Performance-wise, it is no different than the Moto Edge S30 since the chipset is the same, i.e., the Snapdragon 888+. But some areas are significantly improved as compared to the Edge S30.
The display is no longer an LCD. Instead, this is a 6.55-inch 144Hz pOLED panel, and on top of that, it is curved on the sides. It is pretty rare to have a curved display on phones at this price because a curved display is something we expect to see on high-end premium flagships. The fingerprint scanner is placed under the display.
The battery size is 4,400mAh, and the phone supports 68W fast charging.
Finally, in terms of cameras, the Moto S30 Pro has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary shooter has a 50MP sensor with OIS, the secondary ultrawide/macro camera has a 13MP sensor, and finally, there is a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 32MP camera.
Moto S30 Pro comes in two colors, and here is the pricing for China –
- 8GB + 128GB – ¥2199 (~$326)
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥2699 (~$400)
- 12GB + 512GB – ¥2899 (~$430)
