The Moto G9 Plus is now official in Brazil & it succeeds the last year’s Moto G8 Plus. The G9 Plus brings upgrades in almost every department compared to the G8 Plus, whether it is the performance, the design, the cameras, the battery, etc. It is worth mentioning that the Moto G9 is already official as it launched last month in the Indian market.
MOTO G9 PLUS – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
Motorola took some design notes from Samsung because the G9 Plus comes in a Gold color option, which is similar to the Galaxy Note 20’s Mystic Bronze color & looks really beautiful. Compared to the Moto G8 Plus, there is a hole-punch design this time instead of a notch & on the back, there is a rectangular camera module housing four cameras & the LED flash.
The fingerprint scanner is now on the right side & doubles as the power button. On the left side, there is a dedicated Google Assistant button along with the SIM Card tray.
Now, Motorola didn’t mention the build material on its Brazillian website, so we are assuming that there is the same plastic back panel as on the Moto G9.
On the front, Moto G9 Plus has a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ LCD with HDR10 support & it is a normal 60Hz panel. Under the hood, the phone gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, which is a big upgrade over the Snapdragon 665 of Moto G8 Plus. This chipset is paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM & 128GB expandable storage.
There is a big 5,000mAh battery underneath & the G9 Plus supports 30W TurboCharging, which is great. For comparison, the Moto G8 Plus had a 4,000mAh battery with 15W Charging.
The Quad camera setup on the rear includes a primary 64 Megapixel camera with a f/1.8 aperture lens, a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter with 118-degree FOV, a third 2 Megapixel Macro & a fourth 2 Megapixel Depth sensor. There is support for 4K 30fps video recording via the main rear camera.
The camera on the front is a 16 Megapixel unit with an f/2.0 aperture lens.
Moto G9 Plus is a pretty heavy device at 223g, which is surprising since the recently launched Samsung Galaxy M51 with a much bigger 7,000mAh battery, weighs 213 grams.
MOTO G9 PLUS – PRICING & AVAILABILITY
The G9 Plus comes in two colors – Blue & Gold. In Brazil, the phone with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at R$2.499,10, which translates to around $469. Obviously, the price is going to be much lower in markets like India when it launches.
