The Moto G85 was launched in the Indian market today, and it is the successor to the Moto G84. The G84 was launched with a Snapdragon 695 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery for ₹19,999. The G85 starts at ₹17,999, and for a lower starting price, the phone offers some big upgrades.

Starting with the design, the G85 comes in three colors – Cobalt Blue, Olive Green, and Urban Grey. The Blue & Green options feature a vegan leather material on the back, whereas the Grey option has a PMMA material on the back with a matte finish. On the front, the phone has a curved display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device is pretty slim and lightweight at 7.59mm and 179g, respectively.

There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a USB 2.0 Type-C port on the bottom, and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the Moto G85 was the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, which is a slightly improved Snapdragon 695. This SOC is built on the 6nm process, and the CPU is clocked at up to 2.3GHz (versus 2.2GHz in the 695). There is 8GB or 12GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and there is 33W fast charging support. The 33W adapter is provided in the box.

Finally, Android 14 runs out of the box.
