Last year in June, Motorola launched the Moto G82 5G in India with a 120Hz pOLED display, a Snapdragon 695 chipset, and a 50MP camera with OIS. The phone started at ₹21,499 and was an excellent value-for-money phone last year. Today, Motorola launched the successor in India, the Moto G84 5G. It isn’t a significant upgrade over the previous year’s model, and that’s why the starting price is lower than the Moto G82 at ₹19,999.
We already knew everything about the phone except for the price, but to recap, the Moto G84 comes in three colors – Marshmallow Blue, Midnight Blue, and Viva Magenta. The Viva Magenta and Marshmallow Blue options feature a vegan leather back. The phone is IP54 certified and has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This year, the fingerprint scanner is placed under the display, compared to a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Moto G82.
The chip is the same as Moto G82 – Snapdragon 695. It is paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. This is the only storage configuration the phone comes with.
The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone has a 33W charger in the box.
The primary rear camera has a 50MP 1/1.5-inch sensor with 1.0µm pixel size (2.0µm after binning) and OIS. The second camera is for ultrawide photos and has an 8MP sensor with 118-degree FOV. There is no 4K video recording support since Snapdragon 695 doesn’t support it. The selfie shooter has a 16MP sensor with a 1.0µm pixel size.
Moto G84 has a 6.55-inch 120Hz Full-HD+ pOLED display with 10-bit colors, 1300 nits peak brightness, and up to 240Hz touch-sampling rate. Finally, the phone runs on Android 13, and Motorola has promised the Android 14 update.
Moto G84 has three colors and a single storage option – 12GB + 256GB. The price is ₹19,999 (₹18,999 after including the bank offer). The sale starts on September 8 on Flipkart.
