2018 was not a good year for Motorola. The company launched too many phones with bad pricing, which resulted in poor sales in markets like India. The recently launched Motorola P30 Play received only 380 pre-orders in 5 days in China. In India, the company launched the G6 with Snapdragon 450 at Rs Rs 13,999 whereas the Moto G6 Plus with Snapdragon 630 at Rs 22,499. Even after knowing that there are phones like the Poco F1 with Snapdragon 845 at Rs 20,999, the company launched the G6 Plus at such an insanely high price.

Now, we can expect that the company will learn from its mistakes and launch products with sensible pricing next year. Talking about 2019, the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus monikers were confirmed as MySmartPrice was able to get the images which revealed them. But, it looks like there won’t be any G7 Play next year. This is good to know since it is good to have lesser phones in every series, especially from a company like Motorola that launched four phones in the G series in 2017.
But then again, it all comes down to the pricing. Let’s hope not to see the same story with next year’s Motorola phones as we saw this year.
