In June, the Moto G62 launched in the global market alongside the Moto G42. While the G42 is a 4G phone, the G62 is a 5G phone, thanks to the Snapdragon 480+ SOC, the same chipset that powered the Moto G51 last year. Now, Motorola is bringing the G62 to the Indian market, and the launch is taking place on the 11th of August. The catch here is that in India, the G62 is launching with the Snapdragon 695 5G SOC, not the Snapdragon 480+.
Apart from the SOC, we don’t expect any difference in the specifications when compared to the global variant. So, Moto G62 should launch with a 6.5-inch 120Hz IPS LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution, a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging, a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup, and a 16MP selfie camera.
These specifications may sound familiar because the Moto G71 too features the Snapdragon 695 SOC, a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP camera setup, a 16MP selfie camera & a 5,000mAh battery. The difference is that Moto G71 has a 60Hz AMOLED panel & 33W fast charging.
Also, going by the name, the Moto G62 should be priced lower than Moto G71, so we are expecting the starting price to be somewhere around ₹15,000 since the Moto G71 currently starts at ₹15,999.
