Almost a month after the global announcement, Moto G62 is now official in the Indian market. This is a 5G phone but unlike the global variant that has Snapdragon 480+ SOC, the Indian variant comes with the Snapdragon 695 5G, which already powers some Motorola phones such as the Moto G71 and the Moto G82. While we were expecting Motorola to launch the G62 at around ₹15-16,000 price, Motorola launched the phone at ₹17,999, which is quite surprising since you can buy the Moto G71 at ₹15,999 currently.

Design-wise, the Moto G62 looks similar to the Moto G52, which launched in India in April. That is not a surprise since Motorola has kept the design of most of its G series devices the same this year. And not just the design but the specifications of the Moto G series devices is very similar, and there is not a big difference in the pricing.

The Moto G62 has a polycarbonate build, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a flat panel on the front with a hole punch cutout in the center. The phone has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Under the hood, Moto G62 has the Snapdragon 695 5G SOC, 6GB or 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card up to 1TB. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 20W fast charging.

The camera setup on the rear includes a 50MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide & a 2MP macro camera. There is a 16MP selfie camera. There is no support for 4K video recording since that seems to be a limitation of Snapdragon 695 5G.

Finally, there is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full-HD+ resolution. Android 12 runs out of the box. Moto G62 supports 12 5G bands – n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n77, and n78.

Here is the pricing for the Indian market –

  • 6GB + 128GB – ₹17,999
  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹19,999

You can buy the phone via Flipkart starting August 19.
