A month after its launch in Europe, the Moto G22 is now official in the Indian market. The phone comes with a price tag of ₹10,999, and the company is even offering a discount of ₹1000 till the 14th of April (the sale starts on the 13th). For this price, you’re getting the MediaTek Helio G37 chip, a 90Hz display, a stock Android 12 experience, and an excellent design.
Design-wise, the phone looks beautiful, even though it has a polycarbonate build. This is due to the unique-looking camera module design and a matte finish on the back. There is a flat-frame design, and the phone also has a water-repellent coating. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom, a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
There is a flat panel with a hole punch in the center. Since this is a budget phone, there is a big bottom chin.
Speaking of the specs, Moto G22 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 720p resolution. There is MediaTek Helio G37 SOC under the hood, which is not a lot different than the Helio G35. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage that is expandable via a microSD card of up to 1TB. There is only one storage option. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and you get a 20W charger in the box.
Finally, the Quad camera setup on the rear includes a primary 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP sensor with an f/2.2 ultrawide lens, and two 2MP sensors, one for macro shots and the other for depth information. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
In India, the phone comes in two colors named Cosmic Black and Iceberg Blue. The price is ₹10,999, and the sale starts on the 13th of April. Till the 14th of April, you can get this phone for ₹9,999 as Motorola is offering a discount of ₹1000. It will be available to buy via Flipkart.
