The Moto G14 was launched in August 2023, and it was an entry-level smartphone with no 5G support. The phone was launched with a Unisoc T616 chipset, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a Full-HD+ display, and a 50MP rear camera. The brand is now all set to launch its successor, the Moto G15. The Moto G15 will also be a non-5G phone, and the key specifications of the phone are now here, thanks to 91Mobiles.
Design-wise, the Moto G15 looks identical to the recently launched Motorola smartphones. It has a vegan leather finish on the back and a dual camera setup in the top left corner. The frame is flat, as is the display on the front. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an IP54 rating.
The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme chipset, which has a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. This is the first time we are hearing about the “Extreme” version of the Helio G81, so it is most likely a slightly more powerful version of the Helio G81. There is 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB internal storage. This is quite interesting because usually, we expect entry-level phones to launch with 4GB or 6GB RAM. Even the Moto G14 was launched with 4GB RAM in 2023.
The display is a 6.72-inch LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The panel is protected with Gorilla Glass 3, and there is HDR10 support. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button.
The phone has a 5,200mAh battery and supports 18W wired charging. For comparison, the Moto G14 had a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging.
Finally, let’s talk about cameras. The Moto G15 has a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens, and the secondary camera has a 5MP sensor, most likely an ultrawide camera. The selfie camera has an 8MP sensor. The Moto G14 had a 2MP sensor for the secondary rear camera, so it is good to see Motorola offering a more useful secondary camera on the G15.
The phone should launch with Android 15 out of the box.
Speaking of pricing, the Moto G15 is reportedly launching in Europe for €199. In the Indian market, the phone should launch under ₹10,000.
