Motorola launched a new budget phone in the US today, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023). The first Moto G Stylus was launched in 2020, and as the name suggests, the main USP of this series is the stylus that comes bundled with the phone. It is also worth mentioning that the non-5G version of Moto G Stylus 2023 is already available in the US, as it was launched a month ago for $199. The 5G version is priced at $399. For comparison, the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 was launched at $499.

The phone has a plastic build, a hole punch design on the front, a dual camera setup on the rear, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. There are two color options – Cosmic Black and Rose Champagne.

Under the hood is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, a 4nm SOC featuring an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz. We don’t remember any phone launching with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 so far, so the Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 seems to be the first to feature this chipset. There is 4GB or 6GB RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 20W charging.

The dual camera setup includes a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide/macro. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor. The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps.

The display on the front is a 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution.

Finally, Android 13 runs out of the box.

Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 starts at $399 in the US.
