In January last year, we got the Moto G Play 2021 with a Snapdragon 460 chipset, an IPS LCD with a 720p resolution, and a 5,000mAh battery. It’s been quite some time since we last heard of a Moto G Play device, and now, we have got the official renders, as well as the specifications, of the upcoming Moto G Play 2022. 91Mobiles shared these details, and while we do not know the launch date, it should be happening soon.
The Moto G Play 2022 is an entry-level phone; hence the design isn’t anything special to discuss. The display has a hole punch cutout but a big bottom bezel. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear, with three cameras.
Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G37 SOC, which seems to be Motorola’s chipset of choice regarding budget phones. There is a 6.5-inch 720p LCD with a regular 60Hz refresh rate. There is 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable via a microSD card.
The triple camera setup on the rear includes a 16MP primary sensor and two 2MP sensors, one for macro shots and the other for depth information. There is a 5MP sensor for selfies.
Finally, the phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 10W charging.
Well, there isn’t any significant upgrade in terms of specifications over the Moto G Play 2021, so we are expecting the price to remain almost similar to the predecessor.
