It was the month of September when Motorola unveiled the Moto E6 Plus last year at IFA Berlin. That device offered the MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core SOC, a small 3,000mAh battery, dual rear cameras & more at a price of €139. Now, Motorola is all set to unveil the successor, i.e., the Moto E7 Plus.
Today, Evan Blass shared a few specifications of the phone on Twitter. The image he shared shows the highlights of E7 Plus that include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 octa-core SOC, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a huge 5,000mAh battery & a dual-camera setup on the rear with a primary 48 Megapixel shooter.
It is worth mentioning that the Snapdragon 460 chipset was unveiled in January this year alongside the Snapdragon 720G & the Snapdragon 662. The Snapdragon 460 is based on the 11nm manufacturing process & the CPU features the Kryo 240 cores. This is the first Snapdragon 400-series SOC to feature Kryo cores.
Compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, the Snapdragon 460 offers a massive 70% improvement in the CPU performance & 60% improvement in the GPU performance. The GPU is Adreno 610, btw.
In short, the Moto E7 Plus is definitely a big upgrade over the Moto E6 Plus when we talk about the performance.
Last month, 91Mobiles shared the live images of E7 Plus which revealed that the device has a waterdrop notch on the front & a vertically placed dual-camera setup on the rear that also includes Laser Autofocus system. The fingerprint scanner is also on the rear. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom & the phone seems to have a glass back. But, it could be glossy plastic as well.
There is no word from Motorola on the launch, but since Motorola has planned an event on September 9th for the Motorola Razr 5G, it is most likely that the Moto E7 Plus is launching the same day.
