In November of 2020, Micromax launched the IN Note 1 smartphone in India with Helio G85 and Quad cameras. But, in 2021, the company did not launch any successor to that phone. Well, today, Micromax launched its successor in India. The Micromax IN Note 2 is now official, and it comes with some significant upgrades over the predecessor, such as a new design, upgraded performance, an AMOLED panel, faster charging, etc.

Micromax IN Note 2

Design-wise, the Micromax IN Note 2 has a camera module design similar to the S21 series, which is not a bad thing because it does look nice. Now, the back has glass, and it is not plastic, so that is something we don’t often see these days in budget phones. The camera module has a matte finish, whereas the rest of the back has a glossy finish. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the side, and speaking of the sides, they are flat, not curved. On the front, the phone has a flat display with a centered hole punch cutout and a big chin on the bottom.

Speaking of the display, it is a 6.43-inch AMOLED with Full-HD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass protection. Again, this is something we do not often see in this price segment, as most brands prefer going for an LCD at this price.

There are four cameras on the rear, where the main shooter has a 48MP sensor and an f/1.79 aperture lens. There is a second ultrawide camera with a 5MP sensor, a third 2MP macro, and a fourth 2MP depth sensor. Micromax could’ve gone for at least 8MP ultrawide because a 5MP sensor does not seem enough for ultrawide shots.

On the front, there is a 16MP camera for selfies.

Micromax IN Note 2

Micromax IN Note 2 comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 30W charging. Under the hood, there is MediaTek Helio G95 SOC, 4GB RAM, and 64GB UFS 2.1 storage. For memory expansion, there is a triple card slot. Finally, Android 11 runs out of the box, and like other IN series phones from Micromax, it is a stock Android experience with no bloatware. It would’ve been better to launch this phone with Android 12 out of the box because we are in 2022 now, and the first month is already about to end.

Finally, speaking of the pricing and availability, the Micromax IN Note 2 comes in two colors named Black & Oak. There is only one storage option, and the price is ₹13,490. Micromax is also offering a special discount of ₹1000, initially bringing the price down to ₹12,490. The sale starts on January 30 at 12 PM, and you can buy the phone via Flipkart, as well as Micromax’s official website.
