In July last year, Micromax launched the IN 2b smartphone, which was an entry-level phone with UNISOC T610 SOC. Today, Micromax IN 2c was launched in India, and this is quite a similar phone to the IN 2b since most of the specifications remain the same. The price is ₹8,v499, which is the same as the starting price of IN 2b right now. But, initially, Micromax is offering a discount of ₹1000 so, which brings the price down to ₹7,499. It is not known when this introductory offer will end.
Design-wise, the Micromax IN 2c is almost the same as the IN 2b except for the fact that there is no fingerprint scanner on the IN 2c. It was there on the IN 2b, so that’s surprising. There is a rear-facing speaker, a Type-C port on the bottom along with the headphone jack, and a display with a notch on the front.
There is the same 6.52-inch 720p panel on the front with 420nits brightness. The notch on the top houses a 5MP selfie camera. Under the hood, there is the same UNISOC T610 SOC that powered the IN 2b. It is built on the 12nm process and has an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The phone comes with 3GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. For comparison, the IN 2b launched with 4GB RAM as the base.
The dual-camera setup on the rear includes a primary 8MP sensor along with a depth sensor. For comparison, IN 2b had a 13MP primary sensor. And finally, the phone has a 5,000mAh battery and no fast charging support. Android 11 runs out of the box.
Well, instead of IN 2c, Micromax could’ve simply launched this phone as a 3GB RAM variant of IN 2b because the specifications are so similar. Since the IN 2b is selling for ₹8,499, we think it is a better idea to go for that phone instead of going for the IN 2c since that phone offers more RAM, a fingerprint scanner, and a better rear camera.
Micromax IN 2c will go on sale starting May 1st.
