In November last year, Micromax launched two budget phones in India named the Micromax IN Note 1 and Micromax IN 1b. Today, Micromax IN 1 launched in India and as the name shows, this device sits between the IN 1b and the IN Note 1 when it comes to pricing and performance. For a price tag of Rs 9,999 the phone offers MediaTek Helio G80 SOC, a 48 Megapixel triple camera setup, a 5,000mAh battery, and more.
Design-wise, there isn’t much change when we compare the IN 1 to IN Note 1. The only difference is that IN 1 has three rear cameras whereas IN Note 1 has four. There is the same rear-facing fingerprint scanner, the same centered hole-punch cutout, USB Type-C port, and also the same “X” pattern on the rear panel.
There is a 6.67-inch LCD with Full-HD+ resolution, 440nits brightness, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, there is the MediaTek Helio G80 SOC which is an octa-core chip based on the 12nm fabrication process. It is paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage. It would’ve been better if there was UFS 2.1 storage. Anyways, Micromax IN 1 has a 5000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging via the Type-C port.
Speaking of the cameras on this phone, there are three on the back that includes a primary 48 Megapixel shooter paired with a 2 Megapixel macro camera and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. There is an 8 Megapixel camera on the front for selfies. Micromax should’ve gone for an ultrawide shooter as the secondary camera instead of adding a 2MP depth sensor. Finally, Android 10 runs out of the box, and like the last year’s devices, it is a stock Android experience with no bloatware or ads.
