Meizu makes beautiful phones that are priced aggressively, but the only thing is that the company usually doesn’t launch all its best phones outside the Chinese market. If it does, the pricing is usually much higher than that in China. Today, the Meizu 16T launched in China & one thing that makes it an impressive device is the fact that it is the cheapest Snapdragon 855-powered phone at the time of publishing this article!
As the title says, the price starts at 1,999 Yuan or $282 & at that price, what you’re getting is amazing. There is Snapdragon 855 SOC, UFS 3.0 storage, a triple camera setup on the rear, etc.
MEIZU 16T – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
While we’re getting phones with pop-up selfie cameras & hole-punch displays, Meizu sticks with its minimal & gorgeous notch-less design. There are minimal bezels all around & the selfie camera is placed on the top bezel where the earpiece is also placed. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner.
On the rear, the Meizu 16T has a triple camera setup placed on the top left & yes, there is a glass back. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom alongside the 3.5mm headphone jack. There are stereo speakers, so one is on the bottom while the other in the earpiece on the front.
On the front, there is a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Full-HD+ panel with an 18.6:9 aspect ratio & a resolution of 2232 x 1080 pixels. The display brightness can go up to 600nit. Under the hood, there is 7nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SOC with Kryo 485 CPU clocked at up to 2.84GHz & Adreno 640 GPU. The phone has 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM & 128/256GB UFS 3.0 storage.
Coming to the cameras, the Meizu 16T has a triple camera setup on the back that includes a primary 12 Megapixel shooter with Sony IMX 362 sensor & f/1.9 aperture, an 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter with Samsung 4H7 sensor & f/2.2 aperture & finally, a 5 Megapixel depth sensor with f/1.9 aperture. On the front, the phone has a 16 Megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture.
The rear camera features include PDAF, Portrait Mode, Super Night Scene, Auto HDR, AI Scene Recognition, 2.5cm macro photos, 4K 60fps video recording, ultra-wide-angle video recording, etc. The front camera features include Portrait Mode, AI Beauty, Auto HDR, Face Unlock, Super Night Scene, & Backlight Mode.
When it comes to the battery, the Meizu 16T has a massive 4,500mAh unit inside that supports 18W mCharge Fast Charging via the USB Type-C port. For gaming, there is Linear Vibration Motor, Stereo Speakers, Game Mode, etc.
