MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ launched with an upgraded CPU

The AI performance also gets upgraded!

In November last year, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SOC was launched as the first smartphone SOC with an all-big core CPU.  The CPU had four Cortex-X4 cores clocked at up to 3.25GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. Today, the brand launched the upgrade, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. This new chip features an upgraded CPU and AI performance.

The Dimensity 9300+ has the same core configuration, but the one prime Cortex-X4 core is clocked at 3.4GHz, up from 3.25GHz. MediaTek did not reveal how big the performance improvement over the non-Plus version is. The GPU is the same, the Immortalis-G720.

While the APU is also the same, it is said to offer a 10% performance improvement over the one inside the Dimensity 9300. This new chip can run Large Language Models or LLMs, with 7 Billion parameters at 22 tokens per second.

So, in short, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ brings an increased clock speed for the prime CPU core and an upgraded AI performance, including broader support for LLMs.

As for the smartphones with this chipset, the Vivo X100s series is expected to be the first to launch with the Dimensity 9300+ on May 13.
