LG W10 & W30 launched in India, W30 Pro coming soon

LG launched two new phones in the all-new “W” series in India today, the LG W10 & LG W30. At the event, the company also announced the W30 Pro which is coming soon & will have Qualcomm Snapdragon processor & Stereo Pulse Sound. Anyways, the W10 starts at Rs 8,999 while the starting price is Rs 9,999 for the LG W30.

LG W10 – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

Talking about the design first, the W10 comes with a polycarbonate build & has a dual camera setup on the rear. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the rear. On the front, there is a big iPhone-like notch & also a big bottom chin. The power button is on the right while the volume rockers are on the left.

The phone has a triple card slot, which means you can add two SIM cards & a micro SD card at the same time. So, that’s sweet. The micro USB port & the headphone jack are placed on the bottom. Well, there isn’t anything special in terms of the overall design.

Coming to the specifications, the LG W10 has a 6.19 (15.72cm) 18.9:9 HD+ (1512 x 720) display with a notch & is powered by the octa-core 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P22 processor. There is 3GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage which, as mentioned above, can be expanded via micro SD card.

Coming to the cameras, the LG W10 has a dual camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 13MP camera & a 5MP secondary camera with fixed focus. On the front is the 8MP camera placed in that huge notch along with the LED flash & the earpiece. There is Face Unlock as well as Bokeh Mode.

Finally, there is a 4,000mAh battery which is more than enough for a full day of usage, thanks to the low-resolution display & power efficient processor. Surprisingly, the LG W10 comes with stock-ish Android instead of LG’s custom skin. Android 9 Pie runs out of the box.

LG W30 -DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

Rs 1,000 more gets you the LG W30 with a triple camera setup on the rear & a waterdrop notch on the front. But, the design remains normal with polycarbonate build. There is, however, a glossy back panel that does resemble glass but is just plastic. The triple cameras on the rear are placed vertically with one lens having a red ring around it. The fingerprint scanner is there on the back as well.

The LG W30 gets a larger 6.26-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution (1520 x 720) & 19:9 aspect ratio but has the same octa-core 2.0Ghz MediaTek Helio P22 as the W10. There is 3GB RAM & 32GB internal storage. Unlike the W10, the LG W30 has a hybrid SIM slot, which means you have to sacrifice the second SIM to add a micro SD card.

Coming to the cameras, there are three on the rear. There is a primary 12MP camera with Sony IMX 486 sensor & AF,  a secondary 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 100-degree FOV & finally a third 2MP depth sensor. It is good to see that like Samsung, LG is providing an ultra-wide-angle camera along with the primary camera. There is a single 16MP front-facing camera placed in that waterdrop notch.

The LG W30 also has a 4,000mAh battery that charges via the micro USB port. There is no fast charging. Android 9 Pie runs out of the box, which is almost a pure stock Android.

THE PRICING

The LG W10 comes in two colors – Tulip Purple & Smokey Grey. The LG W30, on the other hand, has three color options – Aurora Green, Platinum Grey & Thunder Blue. The W10 with 3GB RAM & 32GB storage is priced at Rs 8,999 & will be available via Amazon India from July 3rd. The LG W30 Pro is coming soon with Snapdragon 632 processor, 6.22-inch display, & a 16MP front camera. The W30 Pro has triple cameras with a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera & a 5MP depth sensor.
