In May, LG launched a trio of smartphones under the Q7 series that includes the LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7α. After three months, the Q7 was recently launched in India at a price tag of Rs 15,990. Last year, when LG launched the Q6 in India, it was an overpriced phone but that FullView display was the main reason why people bought it since it was a unique feature in that price segment. The Q7 comes with the same FullView display but adds some extra features that were not present in the last year’s Q6 like an IP68 Rating, a fingerprint scanner, MIL-STD 810G certification, and more.
The specifications may not be that good for the price as it simply doesn’t stand a chance against the competition. The phone has a 5.5-inch Full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. There is a 2.5D Curved glass on top. The chipset under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750S which was announced two years back in Q2 2016. So, don’t expect any mind-blowing performance from this device. This is just an overpriced device from LG with the main USP being the IP68 rating and solid build.
The LG Q7 has 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM and the option to expand the storage via a micro SD card up to 2TB. The phone has a 3,000mAh battery with Fast Charging. And did we mention that there is a USB Type-C port?
Coming to the cameras, the Q7 packs a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens. The LG Q7 is IP68, and MIL-STD 810G certified, and right now, it is the only phone under Rs 16K to have these features. Some other features include HiFi Audio, DTS:X to offer virtual 3D sound, Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, etc.
The LG Q7 will be available to buy from September 1st in India at a price of Rs 15,990.
