UPDATE – Yes, this is the LG G8 indeed!
I’ve seen the G8. The @OnLeaks leak is legit. Maybe there are some very, very minor changes to the phone that aren’t accurately represented in the CAD renders (perhaps color, textures), buuuuuuuuut that’s definitely a G8.

David Ruddock, the Managing Editor at AndroidPolice, said that these are indeed the CAD renders of the LG G8 and there are some minor changes like the textures and the color that aren’t accurately represented in the renders.
Every year, LG launches some really good phones in the flagship segment but the poor marketing and late launch results in the poor sales. This is something we have seen with every LG flagship launched in the past couple of years. Last year, the LG G7 ThinQ and V40 ThinQ were the best phones from LG, but since they launch pretty late in competitive markets, the company wasn’t able to make good sales.
The LG V40 ThinQ is still not launched in India and is launching this month which makes no sense since we are soon getting phones with the latest processor and better specs. Today, the CAD renders of an upcoming LG smartphone (codenamed ‘Alpha’) leaked, and it was earlier expected to be the LG G8 but now, Ken Hong, Head of LG Electronics’ global corporate communications, has confirmed that the G8 is not going to look like what these renders reveal.
So maybe there is any other smartphone from LG launching this year with this design. The design is not much different from last year’s G7 ThinQ except for some changes like the horizontally placed dual cameras on the back. The phone has the same glass and metal build, same notch design from the front, same ports and button placement etc. And yes, the headphone jack is still there.
We don’t think LG will go for less than three rear cameras on the LG G8 since the LG V40 ThinQ was launched with triple rear cameras. So, maybe this is another phone from LG launching this year in the flagship or maybe mid-range segment (in case LG is planning to compete with companies like Xiaomi).
As the renders reveal, the phone has a 19.5:9 display which is probably a 6.1-6.2-inch panel. The dimensions are 152 x 72 x 8.4mm. Other specifications are not yet known.
