Lenovo Z6 Pro launched with Snapdragon 855 & Quad rear cameras

After a lot of teasers & leaks, Lenovo Z6 Pro finally launched in China today, and it is a flagship from the company with specs like Quad cameras & Snapdragon 855 processor. If you don’t know, this is the second phone from Lenovo to launch with the Snapdragon 855 SoC, the first being the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. With a starting price of 2,899 Yuan or $430, the phone is a killer device at this price & would compete with the likes of Xiaomi Mi 9, Vivo iQOO, etc. in China.

Talking about the design of the Z6 Pro, it has a premium glass & metal design with the glass back featuring a unique pattern. The four cameras on the rear are arranged vertically and so is the company’s logo. The lack of a fingerprint scanner on the rear means there is one under the display.

That display on the front is a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution (2340*1080). The company mentions Corning Gorilla Glass protection, but the version is not yet known. Moreover, the renders show a super tiny bottom chin, but we doubt if same is the case in real life. There is a small waterdrop notch as well.

Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor which is a standard of 2019’s flagships. It is a 7nm octa-core processor & the Lenovo Z6 Pro comes with 6/8/12GB RAM & 128/256/512GB internal storage. There is also an option to expand the storage via microSD card up to 512GB.

Coming to the cameras, the Z6 Pro features Quad Cameras on the rear. So, there is a primary 48 Megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 16 Megapixel super wide-angle secondary camera with 125 ° FOV & f/2.2 aperture, a third 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture & finally a fourth 2MP camera with f/1.8 aperture & 2.8-micron pixels, solely for videos.

This 2MP camera also has Optical Image Stabilization. The rear camera can take 4K videos & other features include Night Scene, Macro Mode, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode, etc. On the front, there is a single 32 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.

There is a 4,000mAh battery underneath & the Lenovo Z6 Pro supports 27W Fast Charging via USB Type-C port. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie with ZUI 11 on top. And did we mention that the phone has a headphone jack?

Right now, there is no word from the company on launch in markets outside China. The pricing for the Chinese market, however, is as follows –

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM – 2,899 Yuan | $430
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM – 2,999 Yuan | $450
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM – 3,799  Yuan | $565
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB ROM – 4,999 Yuan | $744

The phone will be available on JD.com, TMall & Lenovo Store in China & the first sale is happening on April 29th.
