Lenovo Legion Y700 gaming tablet to launch alongside the Legion Y90

It packs the Snapdragon 870 SOC

We already know that in a few days, Lenovo will launch its first gaming phone of this year, the Legion Y90, in China. It is coming to the global market in two versions named the Legion 3 Pro and Legion 3 Elite. So far, we know all the specifications of that gaming phone, but that’s not the only gaming-centric device Lenovo has planned to launch. In fact, the company is also going to launch a gaming-centric tablet soon named the Lenovo Legion Y700. We are expecting the gaming phone, the gaming tablet, and other gaming-centric devices to launch on the 28th of February as the company has already announced an event that day in China.

Today, many sources on Weibo shared the images and specifications of this tablet, so maybe today, some embargo got lifted.

Design-wise, the Legion Y700 doesn’t have any gaming-centric vibe like the gaming phone. It looks like a normal tablet with a single camera on the back and a large display on the front. The tablet does have a button on the side that you can use to enable game mode.

In terms of specs, it has a large 8.8-inch display, and it is a 120Hz LCD with a 2K resolution, HDR10 and Dolby Vision. There is the Snapdragon 870 chipset under the hood and before you think about how good the performance is going to be with a one-year-old SOC, let us tell you that the VC cooling system in this tablet covers an area of 8500mm² which means it is going to offer the best performance that you can expect the Snapdragon 870 to offer. We already know that Snapdragon 870 is much better in sustaining the peak performance when compared to Snapdragon 888/888+ or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and with the cooling system covering such a large area, high temperatures should not be an issue with this gaming tablet.

There is 12GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB UFS 3.1 storage (expandable), and Android 11-based ZUI 13 runs out of the box. The battery size is 6,550mAh battery which is not very big for a tablet, especially a gaming tablet. Lenovo Legion Y700 supports 45W fast charging via its USB 3.1 Gen 2 port.

There are two X-axis linear motors, stereo speakers tuned by JBL, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. The back is made of glass and has a matte finish, and the frame is metallic.

Well, we do not know the pricing yet, but still, there is a week left for the expected launch so stay tuned for more details.
