In March last year, Lenovo launched its first gaming tablet under the “Legion” brand, the Legion Y700. It had a Snapdragon 870 chipset, a 6,550mAh battery & a 120Hz LCD. The brand is now preparing to launch the successor, the Legion Y700 2023. Digital Chat Station, a trusted source, has shared the key specifications of the tablet, and there are some notable upgrades this year.
The display size & resolution is the same. It is an 8.8-inch LCD panel with a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. The battery is 6,550mAh, and the charging speed is 45W, the same as the predecessor. Finally, the tablet has the same set of cameras – a 13MP rear & an 8MP front.
The upgrade is in the refresh rate & the performance. The refresh rate is bumped up to 144Hz from 120Hz, whereas the performance is handled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 870.
The Legion Y700 last year had a large 8500mm square vapor chamber for cooling, so we expect an even better cooling system this year.
Well, not everything has changed from last year so we expect the price not to increase significantly. The Legion Y700 2022 was launched at ¥2199 or approximately $308, so we expect the Legion Y700 2023 to start under ¥2999.
