Last year, Lenovo launched its first gaming phone under the Legion brand, and it featured a unique design that included a centered rear-camera setup, a side pop-up selfie camera, a 144Hz AMOLED, 90W fast charging, and more. Now, Lenovo is preparing to launch the successor, named the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro, in the Chinese market. The launch is scheduled to take place on the 8th of April, which means just a couple of days are now left for the unveiling. Today, the live images of the phone were shared by a source on Weibo, which shows us what’s new in terms of the design.
While the last year’s Legion Pro had an aggressive look with all the LEDs and lines all around, the company seems to have gone for a much cleaner design for the Legion 2 Pro. The back is raised from the middle since there is the dual-camera setup in it, along with the Legion logo (that lights up) and the cooling fan. So just like the Red Magic gaming phones, Lenovo’s upcoming gaming phone has a fan too. The company has already revealed that the phone has something called a “Dual Turbo cooling system,” and there are two cooling fans. So cooling is something that’s going to be the main USP of this gaming phone.
Speaking of the front design, there is no change from last year. Lenovo Legion 2 Pro has a display with no notch or hole-punch cutouts since the selfie shooter is on the right side in a pop-up mechanism, just like last year. There are dual front-firing speakers too.
As far as the specs are concerned, Lenovo has shared that there is a huge 6.92-inch 144Hz Samsung’s AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 888 chipset, a 64 Megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.32-inch OV64A sensor supporting 4K 120fps and 8K 30fps video recording, a 44 Megapixel selfie camera, a 5,500mAh battery, and 90W fast charging. All of these specifications hint towards an impressive gaming phone.
