Leaked LG V40 specs reconfirm the presence of triple camera setup

LG just announced two new smartphones at the IFA, the LG G7 One (Android One smartphone) and the G7 Fit. But we were expecting something big from the company. Just like last year, it was expected that we would see the V40 (or the V40 ThinQ) launching at the IFA Berlin. But, looks like LG has planned a separate event to launch its upcoming flagship. The launch is probably happening by the end of this month, and we already know how the LG V40 is going to look like, thanks to a recent leak revealing the press renders of the phone.

Today, AndroidPit got details of most of the specifications of the V40 and looks like it is going to be one of the best camera smartphones of this year. This new leak reconfirms that the V40 is indeed coming with a triple camera setup on the rear and a dual camera setup on the front.

It is already known that we are getting at least 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon 845 processor. The most interesting thing about the V40 is going to be its camera department. Talking about the rear cameras, there is a triple camera setup that includes a 12MP f/1.5 sensor with 1.4µm pixels, a 16MP f/1.9 sensor with 1.0µm pixels and a 12MP f/2.4 sensor with 1.0µm pixels. On the front, the LG V40 has a dual camera setup that includes 8MP + 5MP sensors.

Talking about other specifications, the V40 has a 6.4-inch P-OLED Quad-HD+ display, and as seen in the renders above, there is a notch as well. The phone has a 3,300mAh battery. So, the battery size remains unchanged from last year’s LG V30. Features like Quad DAC and Boombox are there too. There are two variants of the phone – 64GB, and 128GB. Just like last year, it is expected that we will see LG V40 and LG V40+, with the latter having more storage.

The phone is going to be IP68 certified and will feature glass and metal build. The phone has a USB Type-C port, stereo speakers, and a headphone jack.

The launch date is not yet known but looking at the leaks, the launch is expected to happen this month. Stay tuned.
