Lava has launched a new budget phone in India, the Lava O2. The phone is priced at ₹8,499, and it is a rebranded Lava Yuva 3 Pro, launched in December at ₹8,999. So, there are only two differences – the name and the slightly lower price. Moreover, as a part of the special launch offer, Lava is offering a discount of ₹500, bringing the price down to ₹7,999, which sounds like a good deal, considering the specifications.
Lava O2 features a premium AG Glass back, which is rare in the budget segment. There is a flat-frame design, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a hole punch design on the front.
Under the hood, the phone has the UNISOC T616 SOC, which the brand claims to be the fastest in its price segment. Lava claims an AnTuTu score of over 280,000 points, higher than the MediaTek Helio G85. There is 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.
There are dual cameras on the rear, but only the primary 50MP sensor is useful. For selfies, the phone has an 8MP sensor.
As for the display, Lava O2 has a 6.5-inch 720p LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. Finally, Android 13 runs out of the box with no Ads or Bloatware.
Lava O2 comes in Imperial Green, Majestic Purple, and Royal Gold.
The phone comes in a single 8GB + 128GB variant, and the price is ₹8,499.
