Lava expanded its “Blaze” series of smartphones with the launch of the Blaze X in the Indian market today. This is a budget 5G phone from the company with a starting price of ₹14,999. The Lava Blaze X’s design is its main USP, and the company claims it to be the segment’s first 5G phone with a curved display.
The phone looks stunning and does not look like a ₹14,999 smartphone from any angle. There is a curved display on the front with a hole punch cutout and a matte finish on the back. Since the brand does not mention a glass back on its official website, it is safe to say that the phone has a polycarbonate back and frame. There is an under-display fingerprint scanner and a single bottom-firing speaker. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the Lava Blaze X has the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset that scores around 420,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. The phone has 4GB or 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. On the back, the phone has two cameras- a 64MP Sony sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
The battery is 5,000mAh and there is 33W fast charging support. Android 14 runs out of the box, and the company has promised the Android 15 update for the device.
Finally, the display is a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ curved AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.
