Back in May, the iQOO Z9 Turbo was launched in China with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SOC and a large 6,000mAh battery. The phone was launched at a starting price of ¥1999, or around $280. Today, the brand launched an upgraded version in China, the iQOO Z9 Turbo+. The main upgrades include the performance and the battery.
Design-wise, the phone looks identical to the iQOO Z9 Turbo, with the only difference being the “Bronze” color option. The phone has a flat display on the front with a hole punch cutout in the middle, a flat-frame, and a dual camera setup on the rear. The phone is pretty slim at 7.98mm and weighs 196g. There is an IR blaster on top, an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, an X-axis linear motor, and a stereo speaker setup. The phone is IP65-certified.
Under the hood, the iQOO Z9 Turbo+ has the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, the most powerful chipset offered by MediaTek currently. This is built on the 4nm process and features an octa-core CPU with a prime Cortex-X4 core clocked at up to 3.4GHz. There are three more Cortex-X4 cores clocked at up to 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. On the AnTuTu benchmark, the phone scores over 2.3 Million points. There is LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage.
For better thermals, the phone features a large 6043mm square vapor chamber. The phone also has the Q1 gaming chipset.
The battery size is upgraded to 6,400mAh, making it the iQOO device with the largest battery ever. It is impressive that even with such a large battery, the thickness of the phone is just 7.98mm, the same as the iQOO Z9 Turbo. There is support for 80W fast wired charging.
On the front, the iQOO Z9 Turbo+ has a 6.78-inch flat TCL CSOT C8 OLED panel with up to 144Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, a 1.5K resolution, and 3840Hz PWM dimming.
Speaking of cameras, the phone has two on the back. The primary camera has a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS and an f/1.79 lens. The secondary camera takes ultrawide photos and has an 8MP sensor. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 14-based OriginOS 4.
