In May, the iQOO Z9 Turbo was launched in China with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery for a starting price of ¥1999 (~$280). The brand is now all set to launch the upgraded version of the device in China, the iQOO Z9 Turbo+. A couple of specifications of the device have leaked online, shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
As per the source, the iQOO Z9 Turbo+ is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, the most powerful MediaTek chipset currently available in the market. This chipset is built on the TSMC’s 4nm process and features a CPU with one prime Cortex-X4 core clocked at up to 3.4GHz. The other three Cortex-X4 cores are clocked at 2.85GHz. Finally, there are four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
As for benchmark scores, we have seen the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ scoring over 2 Million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. So, compared to the iQOO Z9 Turbo and its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the Z9 Turbo+ offers a significant performance boost.
There is an upgrade in the battery department as well. While the iQOO Z9 Turbo already has a massive 6,000mAh battery, the Z9 Turbo+ is getting an even bigger 6,400mAh battery. Finally, the phone has a 1.5K flat OLED display.
As per other sources, the phone uses a dual-frequency GPS versus a single-frequency GPS inside the iQOO Z9 Turbo. There is also the in-house Q1 gaming chip. Finally, it is reported that even with the increase in battery size, the 7.9mm thickness remains unchanged and the phone is slightly heavier at 199g (versus 195g). The charging speed is reportedly the same as the iQOO Z9 Turbo – 80W.
The launch date is rumored to be September 26.
