The iQOO Z9 Turbo is now official in the Chinese market, featuring the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This is the competitor to the Redmi Turbo 3 and the Realme GT Neo 6. The price starts at ¥1999 (~$275) in the Chinese market, which is the same as the starting price of the Redmi Turbo 3.
In terms of design, the iQOO Z9 Turbo looks similar to the iQOO 12 series from the rear. There is a similar-looking camera module design on the back. The camera module has a dual-camera setup. The sides are flat, as is the display on the front. The phone is pretty slim at 7.98mm and weighs 194.5g. This weight is primarily due to the large battery inside.
The phone is IP64-certified.
On the front, the iQOO Z9 Turbo has a 6.78-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels) and up to 144Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint sensor is placed under the display. The panel supports an HDR peak brightness of 4,500 nits and 3840Hz PWM dimming.
Under the hood, there is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, built on the 4nm process and featuring a prime Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.0GHz. There is LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage. For better thermal management, the phone has a 6043mm square vapor chamber.
The iQOO Z9 Turbo has a large 6,000mAh battery and supports 80W fast wired charging.
There is a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS and an f/1.79 lens. There is an 8MP sensor for the ultrawide camera. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
Finally, the phone runs on OriginOS 4, based on Android 14.
