The iQOO Z7 was a fantastic phone from the brand for the Indian market, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, a 90Hz AMOLED display, 44W charging, and more at ₹18,999. Today, the company launched the successor in India, the iQOO Z9. The iQOO Z8 was not launched in the Indian market, even though it was launched in China last year.
iQOO Z9 comes in two colors – Brushed Green, and Graphene Blue. The Green option has a brushed pattern on the back, whereas the Blue option has a diamond pattern. The phone has a dual camera setup on the rear, and the sides are flat. The device is 7.83mm slim and weighs 188g. On the front, the iQOO Z9 has a flat display with Dragontrail Star 2 protection. There are stereo speakers, but the phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The display is a 6.67-inch AMOLED with a Full-HD+ resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and 1800 nits peak brightness. There is an under-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the iQOO Z9 has the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SOC, the same chip that powers the more expensive phones such as the Nothing Phone 2a, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, iQOO Z7 Pro, and more.
The chip scores over 730,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, making the iQOO Z9 one of the most powerful phones under ₹20,000. The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 44W fast charging. It is worth mentioning that the phone has LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
Speaking of cameras, the iQOO Z9 has two on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS, and the secondary camera has a 2MP sensor with a macro lens. The selfie shooter has a 16MP sensor.
Finally, Android 14 runs out of the box with FuntouchOS 14. The phone will get two Android OS updates.
