UPDATE – iQOO has announced that the phone is launching in India on the 27th of September
We also got to see the rear design of the phone as iQOO on Weibo shared the official renders in three colors. These renders also reveal that the headphone jack is stil there on the top.
With all the smartphone makers launching new phones back and forth, how can iQOO stay behind and just watch them? Well, the company is soon going to launch a new mid-range device in the Indian market named the iQOO Z5. As the name suggests, this is a phone that succeeds the iQOO Z3 that launched earlier this year with the Snapdragon 768G SOC. It launched for a price under Rs 20,000, which made it an extremely good value-for-money device. Now, the Z5 is coming soon, and the latest teaser from iQOO gives us a slight glimpse at its design.
So, as the teaser reveals, the iQOO Z5 has a side-facing fingerprint reader which is not new for this company and also for phones at this price range. There is a rectangular camera module with a design similar to that of the iQOO 7 series. As far as we can see, there are three cameras on the back. While the front is not visible, we hope that iQOO did not go for a waterdrop notch this time as well as it did in the case of the iQOO Z3.
Digital Chat Station, we well-known leakster on Weibo, has already revealed that the iQOO Z5 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SOC and a 120Hz LCD with a centered hole-punch. So, this is going to be yet another phone with Snapdragon 778G under Rs 30,000 in India. And considering how aggressively iQOO prices its phones, we won’t be surprised to see it starting under Rs 25,000. There is a 64 Megapixel camera on the back, and the phone has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging.
iQOO has not yet revealed the launch date, so maybe the company is waiting for brands such as Xiaomi & Samsung to launch their Snapdragon 778G powered phones first to decide on the pricing.
