iQOO 9 is now official in the Indian market, and as the name suggests, this is more expensive than the iQOO 9 SE that we talked about in our previous article but less expensive than the 9 Pro. The price starts at ₹42,990, and for that price, this phone offers the Snapdragon 888+ chip, 120W fast charging, a 10-bit AMOLED panel, and more. In India, this phone will compete with the likes of the OnePlus 9RT, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Galaxy S21 FE, etc.
Design-wise, it comes in two finishes, one is called ‘Legend,’ and that one has racetrack-inspired stripes on the back. The other finish is called ‘Alpha,’ and iQOO used the nano-lithography concave texture process for the back panel, which shows a unique pattern when light hits the back. The phone looks and feels premium because there is glass on the back, and the frame is metallic. The camera module has a triple camera setup in it, and it also has the text that says ‘Gimbal Stabilization.
Speaking of the stabilization first, the primary camera has a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor, the same as iQOO 9 SE. But, instead of a normal OIS system, iQOO 9’s primary camera has a Gimbal-like stabilization. The Enhanced OIS system, along with EIS, helps in rotation in not just X and Y direction but also Z direction. This ensures a steadier video than what the normal OIS + EIS system can produce. This Gimbal Stabilization is only for the primary camera. The second camera is for ultrawide photos and has a 13MP sensor. There is a third portrait lens with a 50mm focal length and a 13MP sensor.
The panel on the front is a 6.56-inch 10-bit AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The peak brightness of this AMOLED is 1200 nits. There is an Intelligent Display Chip as well, which enhances the frame rate in games and ensures that you get more vivid colors.
Under the hood, iQOO 9 has Snapdragon 888+ SOC that is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. There is a large 3,758mm² cooling sheet under the back panel. For a better haptic experience, there are dual X-axis linear motors. There are stereo speakers too.
Finally, iQOO 9 has a 4,350mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging.
There are two storage options and here is the pricing for India –
