The Mobile World Congress is underway & it is the biggest mobile event of the year. Many companies use this opportunity to showcase their impressive devices, many of which are concept phones. Infinix Concept Phone 2021 is one such device showcased at the MWC 2021 & the main USP of this phone is the mind-blowing 160W fast charging. With this much power, the 4,000mAh battery of the phone can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 10 minutes!
Infinix calls it the “Ultra Flash Charge” technology, and of course, some extra work has to be done on the overall charging system to make it this much fast as well as safe. Firstly, the concept phone uses an 8C battery, giving it an edge over the 6C cells that we normally see in smartphones. The company claims that compared to the 6C battery, the 8C battery offers up to 18% lower internal resistance.
And what about heating? We cannot just ignore the heating factor when we are talking about a 160W fast charging technology. Infinix Concept Phone 2021 has got 20 temperature sensors, and their job is to ensure that the overall temperature of the phone doesn’t go beyond 40-degrees. If it goes above that, security protection mechanisms (60 of them) start their work.
The Super Charge Pump has an efficiency of 98.6%, and if you don’t know what it does, this is a system in the phone that converts the voltage from the Type-C port to the voltage that goes into the battery. The 160W adapter responsible for this charging technology is also not your usual adapter. It uses the Gallium Nitrate (GaN) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductors, making it very compact in size. You can also use this adapter to charge laptops.
And well, 160W fast charging is not the only highlight of this phone! The Infinix Concept Phone also has Color Changing Technology, something we have seen previously in a OnePlus concept phone. There is a huge “NOW” printed on the back of the phone, and one cool thing about this rear panel is that the “O” lights up when you are charging the device. The color of the back panel can change from Gray to Blue.
Speaking of some other features, there is a waterfall display on the front that is curved at almost 90 degrees (88-degree to be precise). Then there is support for 50W fast wireless charging. The phone also packs a periscope lens offering up to 60X Digital Magnification.
Well, the Infinix Concept Phone 2021 is, as the name says, a Concept Phone. This means at the moment, Infinix has no plans to launch this phone in the market for the consumers. If some sources are believed, this phone has the Helio G95 SOC, a 64 Megapixel primary shooter, an 8 Megapixel 5X Periscope camera, & a 6.67-inch AMOLED.
