Alongside the Huawei P40 & Huawei P40 Pro, the company also launched a third flagship named the Huawei P40 Pro+. As the name shows, it is the most expensive among the three & hence comes with the most features. Perhaps the biggest upgrades over the P40 Pro are the 10X Optical Zoom camera & the 40W Fast Wireless Charging, both of which are impressive.
While the Huawei P40 & P40 feature a lot of colours & a premium-looking metal & glass build, the Huawei P40 Pro+ takes the design one step ahead as there is a Ceramic Build. Huawei says the Ceramic used is as tough as Sapphire, so that’s a pretty bold claim. Moreover, the colour options are limited to just two, but they are the classic Black & White.
Apart from this, there isn’t much difference in the design when you compare the P40 Pro & P40 Pro+.
Just like the Huawei P40 Pro, the P40 Pro+ has a 6.58-inch Quad-Curve OLED display on the front with 90Hz refresh rate & 2640 x 1200 Pixels resolution. The SOC is also the same, i.e., Kirin 990 5G. There is 8GB RAM paired with 512GB storage.
Coming to the cameras now, the Huawei P40 Pro+ has a Penta-lens camera setup on the rear. There is a primary 50 Megapixel Ultra Vision camera with a 1/1.28″ sensor, OIS & f/1.9 aperture lens. The secondary camera is a 40 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle Cine Camera with f/1.8 aperture & 1/1.54-inch large sensor. There is a third 8 Megapixel telephoto lens with OIS & 3X Optical Zoom and a fourth 3D Depth Sensing Camera.
Finally, there is the star of the show, the 8 Megapixel SuperZoom Telephoto camera with 10X Optical Zoom and OIS. It is the longest lens on any smartphone with a focal length of 240mm. The multi-reflection periscope telephoto lens creates 5 times the light refraction and a 178% increased optical path to achieve Max Zoom up to 100x.
The dual-camera setup on the front is the same as the Huawei P40 Pro i.e., a 32MP camera paired with an IR Camera.
